March 9, 2009

SEATTLE - The Washington baseball team's two scheduled games this week vs. Gonzaga have been postponed due to cold weather in Spokane. The Huskies and Bulldogs will instead play the two-game, non-conference series April 6-7.

Weather forecasts for the Spokane area call for very cold temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday, with even the high temperatures not exceeding freezing.

Start times for the re-scheduled games on Monday, April 6 and Tuesday, April 7, have yet to be determined. As previously scheduled, Gonzaga will also visit Husky Ballpark for two games March 31 and April1 .

Next up for the Dawgs now is a three-game series this coming weekend at Husky Ballpark as San Francisco comes to Seattle. Game one against the Dons is Friday at 5:00 p.m., followed by a 2:00 p.m. game Saturday and a 1:00 p.m. finale Sunday.

Last week, the Huskies won four of five games, winning a pair of non-Pac-10 games vs. Oregon before taking two of three from Nevada in Reno.
