Stanford Wins Third Straight Pac-10 Tournament Title

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Kayla Pedersen had a season-high 25 points and nine rebounds as No. 2 Stanford defeated Southern California 89-64 to win the Pac-10 tournament championship for the sixth time and second consecutive year.

Pedersen finished 10-for-18 from the field for the Cardinal (29-4), who head into the NCAA tournament with a 16-game winning streak. Nnemkadi Ogwumike had 14 and Jeanette Pohlen added 10 for Stanford.

Camille Lenoir led USC (17-15) with 13 points and Kari LaPlante added 12.

Stanford went on a 21-1 run midway through the second, led by Jayne Appel. She was held to scoreless in the first, but had 12 in the second.

The Pac-10 Player of the Year had six points during that spurt and Stanford made three 3s to take a 34-point lead with 8:47 remaining.

The Trojans' mistakes didn't help and Stanford took advantage, scoring 28 off of turnovers.
