WSU to Face LSU in 2009 Cougar Hardwood Classic

PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State University men's basketball team will take on Southeastern Conference-member LSU in the 2009 Cougar Hardwood Classic held Dec. 22 at Seattle's KeyArena, Northwest Sports and Entertainment announced this week.

This will be the fifth-straight year for the Cougar Hardwood Classic which began in 2005 against Utah. WSU has also faced San Diego State (2006), The Citadel (2007) and Montana State (2008) in the game at KeyArena. WSU is undefeated at 4-0 in the Cougar Hardwood Classic.

Located in Baton Rouge, La., LSU is currently participating in the NCAA Tournament after capturing the SEC regular-season crown with a 13-3 league record and 26-7 overall mark. The Tigers and Cougars met for third time in school history this season in Baton Rouge, Dec. 27, with LSU coming away with the 64-52 victory. LSU leads the all-time series 2-1.
