Wilkes, Knezevic Earn Pac-10 Academic Honors

March 24, 2009

BERKELEY - Senior center Jordan Wilkes and junior guard Nikola Knezevic have been named to the second-team Pac-10 All-Academic team announced today by the conference. Wilkes, who boasts a GPA of 3.13, will graduate this May with a degree in social welfare, while Knezevic attained a GPA of 3.03 as an interdisciplinary studies major.

This marks the 12th and 13th times a Golden Bear has earned mention on the first- or second-team units since 2001. Knezevic made the conference all-academic second team last year, as well.

In his final season as a Bear, Wilkes put up career numbers, notching personal highs in points (16 at USC), rebounds (10 vs. DePaul) and blocks (2 vs. North Carolina A&T). He was also the team leader in blocks this season with 14. Wilkes started all but one game this season after having to sit out one contest due to a concussion.

Knezevic came off the bench to score a season-high eight points at UCLA on Jan. 29 and drilled two key three-pointers at Arizona on March 5. He had one of his best games of the season against North Carolina A&T, finishing with five points and two steals.
