Hey there Dawg fans!
As you all know already, we just got home from Pac-10's this last weekend where we placed 4th! The highest we've finished in 6 years!
I was a little bummed that I only got to compete on vault, but I was so proud of the team, and when you look at the fact that 22 of our 24 routines were performed by underclassmen, it just shows that this team has a very promising future.
This week is our Spring break, so we are all excited to get some much needed down time from school and after 11 weeks of competing, we get a weekend off before we host NCAA Regionals next week. I'm so excited that we get to compete at home one more time and after the endless hours of therapy Kathy [Thompson] and I have put on my ankles (that I sprained about a month ago), I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be able to help the team on beam and floor as well as vault.
I also wanted to say thanks, again, to everyone who came to our last home meet against Denver for Senior night. I was so happy my parents and sister came out and I got to show them around Seattle. It's crazy to think that my gymnastics career is coming to an end, but at the same time I can't wait to start the next phase of my life. I definitely will be around next year though and look forward to watching this team develop.
On that note, I wanted to send out a special thanks to Kailey - who will be here as a freshman next year - who was (I'm pretty sure) the first fan let in the door at Pac-10's! Thanks Kay!
Anyways, I hope to see everyone at Regionals! Let's override the crowd with purple! GO DAWGS!
