Keynan Parker Named British Columbia's Top Athlete

Just like he did to opposing defences on the football field and to runners on the track, Keynan Parker pulled away from the field to be named Sport BC high school male athlete of the year.

The St. Thomas More Collegiate grad received the award Tuesday evening at Sport BC's 43rd annual awards gathering at the River Rock Casino in Richmond.

The son of former B.C. Lions star James (Quick) Parker won the award for his exploits during the 2007-08 school year. He was named the high school offensive football player of the year for racking up 2,287 yards and 28 touchdowns in 12 games playing running back for the STM Knights as they reached the B.C. final before losing to their rival Holy Cross Crusaders.
