Jones Earn Second All-American Honor On Platform

Freshman diver Harrison Jones earned his second All-American honor in three days while sophomore diver Steven Starks became an individual scorer for the second year in a row on the final day of the 2009 Men's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday (March 28) at Texas A&M's Student Rec Center Natatorium in College Station, Texas.

Jones, who first earned All-American honors on Thursday on 1-meter, took sixth (413.05) on platform to become USC's first diver to earn multiple All-American honors in one year since Justin Dumais in 1999. Jones moved up to sixth in finals after qualifying in prelims in eighth. He earned his finals berth by a little more than one point.

Starks, 16th last year on platform, improved to 14th this year with 356 points. He is USC's only competitor to score individually each of the last two years.

Sophomore Dillon Connolly raced Saturday in the 200y breast, finishing 26th (1:57.35).

In the 400y free relay, freshman Patrick White, junior Zoltan Povazsay, sophomore Luke Tanner and senior Kevin Bartell finished 17th (2:54.83).

USC finished 15th overall with 50 points.
