SEATTLE - Due to an overwhelming response, applications for the Elite Finishing Academy hosted by the University of Washington women's soccer program will no longer be accepted as the academy has reached capacity.
The academy starts Wednesday, April 8 from 7:30-9 p.m. and continues over five consecutive Wednesdays at the Dempsey Indoor Facility.
Proceeds from the academy are benefiting the Washington women's soccer team's 12-day journey to Brazil, the soccer Mecca of the world, in June.
The Huskies begin their Spring campaign on the road April 11 against Portland, which finished the 2008 season ranked No. 5 in the country. That game will be followed with a match against the U-23 United States National Team on the Nike Campus in Beaverton, Ore., on April 16.
Washington will then return to Seattle for its final three games, taking on Seattle University, Sunday, April 26, in Bothell at 3 p.m. UW will host the final two games of the spring campaign at Husky Soccer Field, taking on Western Washington, Saturday, May 2, at 7 p.m. and the Seattle Sounders women's team, Saturday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m.
