Baseball Game Vs. Gonzaga Rained Out
April 1, 2009
SEATTLE - The baseball game between Washington and Gonzaga, scheduled for today at 3:00 p.m., has been cancelled due to rain. The game will not be made up.
Weather forecasts call for persistent rain throughout the day, with little chance for a window of decent weather in which to play the game.
The Huskies and Bulldogs will play next Monday and Tuesday in Spokane in games that were rescheduled from March 10-11, when cold weather in eastern Washington led to a postponement. Monday's game is at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday's begins at 12:00 p.m.
Next up for the Huskies is a three-game series with No. 3 Arizona State this weekend in Seattle. Friday night's game, which begins at 6:30 p.m., will be played at Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners. Tickets are available at $8 apiece. Groups of 15 or more, purchasing in advance, can buy tickets for $5 each. UW students, with ID, will be admitted for free.
The ASU-UW series continues with a 2:00 p.m. game Saturday and a noon game Sunday (note time change from earlier-scheduled 1:00 p.m. start). All three games vs. the Sun Devils will air live on KKNW AM-1150.
