Hey GymCat Fans!
Post-season time has arrived! Two weekends ago, we travelled to Stanford to compete in the Pac-10 Championships. A few mistakes and falls kept us from getting as high of a team score as we had hoped to achieve. However, there were still many great routines and many high scores!
Once we returned to practice on Monday, we found out that we would be traveling to Fayetteville, Arkansas to compete in the South Central Region as a 4th seed. Last year, we went into NCAA Regionals as a 3rd seed but the different placement this year has not discouraged us at all. Every one of us knows the potential our team has and how good we are when we hit. And for the past two weeks, we have been practicing like champions. Last weekend, we had our first weekend off since season has begun and that really helped all of us catch up on rest and feel refreshed for the final prepping.
Sticking landings and perfecting our form are some last things we have done to prepare physically, but the ultimate step was preparing ourselves mentally. We realize that we are near the end of our season. We have definitely had our highs and lows but the team has always stuck together. No matter what happens, we are always supportive of each other. Because we have both a highly skilled and unified team, there really is no reason for mental errors anymore. We have never been more ready to go out there and show everyone what great things happen when we compete like we practice and achieve our full potential!
