Buffs Kick Off Spring Volleyball Tournament Schedule

BOULDER -  After a few weeks of spring practice, the University of Colorado volleyball team will kick off its spring tournament schedule on Saturday, April 4, at the Texas Tornados College Spring Tournament in Houston.

                                               

                "We have hit the ground running with our spring training and are excited to start playing this weekend," Colorado Head Coach Liz Kritza said. "This program is heading in the right direction and tough competition is essential for our progress. The spring season is focused on improvement, both individual and team, and everyone is excited to put in the hard work it will require to raise the level of volleyball this team can play."

 

                CU will play four matches on Saturday against Wichita State, Louisiana-Lafayette, SMU and LSU. All matches are the best of three, with the third set to 15. The Buffs will start their match play at 9:30 a.m. CST against WSU and their last match is at 2:30 p.m. against LSU.  Tickets are available at the door.

 

                Colorado will head to Sterling, Colo. to play instate rivals Colorado State and Denver on April 11 at the Bank of Colorado Events Center on the campus of Northeastern Junior College. The Buffs will face DU at 12 p.m. and will square off against CSU at 2 p.m. CSU and DU will play at 10 a.m. There will be a meet and greet as well as an autograph session following the matches. Tickets are $3 and are available at the door or by calling the CSU ticket office at (970) 491-7267. 

 

                The Buffs will host a spring tournament on April 18 at the Coors Events Center from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and will wrap up their spring schedule on April 25 at a local tournament to be announced.
