No. 24 California Finishes in 13th Place at PING/ASU Invitational

The No. 24 California Golden Bears finished in 13th place at the PING/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Arizona. The Bears, playing without senior Shannon Yocum, posted their second-straight 307 in the final round of the tournament at the Par 72 - 6230 yard Karsten Golf Course just outside of Phoenix. They finished the tournament with a total score of 922 (+58)

Sophomore Pia Halbig was ninth among the individuals, finishing the tournament at six-over. Halbig was eighth after the first and second rounds. She shot a three-over 75 in her final round to finish in a tie for ninth place. Freshman Diane Kwon was one stroke off Halbig's final round score, posting a 76. Kwon finished at =13 in a tie for 36th place. Allison Goodman was +17 to tie for 55th.

Oklahoma State won the team title with a +17, 288 total score. Purdue's Maria Hernandez was the individual medalist, shooting a five-under, helping to lead her team to a second place finish. Host school Arizona State was third with an 886.

The Bears will have a week off before playing at the Pac-10 Championships, April 24-26 at Stanford.
