Walnut Creek, Calif. – Two Oregon State wrestlers were named to the Pac-10 All-Academic teams, led by senior Kyle Bressler’s (Federal Way, Wash.) first team honors, announced Monday by Commissioner Tom Hansen.
Bressler tallied his third first team accolades, earning the first two in 2006 and 2008. He was named to the second team in 2007. A construction engineering management major, Bressler also earned 2008 NWCA All-Academic Team honors.
Earning his first academic nod, redshirt freshman Kelly Kubec (Lake Stevens, Wash.) earned honorable mention status. Kubec is majoring in Business Administration. Kubec capped his first year of competition with an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships at 133 pounds, after finishing second at the Pac-10 Championships.
To be eligible for selection to an academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and either be a starter or significant contributor.
