WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Pacific-10 Conference outdoor track and field athlete of the week honors for the week of March 30-April 5:

Men's Field Athletes of the Week: CYRUS HOSTETLER, OREGON (Jr., Newberg, Ore.). Hostetler set meet, Oregon and Pac-10 records in the javelin with his winning throw of 272-10 at the Pepsi Team Invitational. That mark is the best in the world in 2009, and ranks fourth all-time on the NCAA's top 10. It was the longest throw by a collegian in nearly 10 years.
Women's Track Athlete of the Week: AMBER PURVIS, OREGON (Fr., Hercules, Calif.). Purvis broke a pair of 20-year-old school records in leading Oregon to a record-setting win at the Pepsi Team Invitational. Ran 11.41 (w+1.4) in the 100 meters to break Rosie Williams record of 11.58, and then came back to win the 200 in 23.09 (w+1.6).
