Men's Golf to Tee Off in ASU Thunderbird Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz.- Arizona will compete in the ASU Thunderbird Invitational Friday and Saturday in Tempe, Ariz. at the Karsten Golf Course, a par 71, 7,057 yard course. ASU will host the event, now in its 37th year of competition.
The Sun Devils won the event last year while Espen Kofstad of Denver took the individual title. Arizona finished tied for tenth.
The field includes host Arizona State, Arizona, Ball State, BYU, California, Colorado State, Cal State Northridge, Denver, Fresno State, UC Irvine, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, San Diego State, Texas Christian and UNLV.
Arizona will send eight players to the tournament. In addition to Tyler Neal, Tarquin MacManus, Jonathan Khan, Rich Saferian and Brad Nicholson, Philip Bagdade, Nick Park and Kenji Hernandez will compete as individuals. Neal and Khan each earned top ten finishes in their last time out, competing in the NIT. Bagdade and Hernandez will play on short rest; the two competed in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic just two days ago.
