No. 6 Cal State Fullerton Tops USC, 9-2

LOS ANGELES - Jared Clark went 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBI Tuesday as the No. 6 Cal State Fullerton Titans beat the USC Trojans, 9-2, in nonconference action at Dedeaux Field. Josh Fellhauer added two hits while Nick Ramirez hit his seventh homer of the season, snapping the Trojans' six-game winning streak.
Kyle Witten earned the win with three scoreless innings, allowing one hit for Cal State Fullerton (23-9). The Titans held the Trojans (17-15) scoreless after allowing two runs in the first.
USC shortstop Grant Green saw his 11-game hitting streak snapped in an 0-for-4 performance.
Jeff Newman singled in the first off Trojan starter Kevin Couture. Fellhauer singled to right to put runners and the corners before Clark hit a two-run double to the gap in left center. Clark later scored on Khris Davis' single for the 3-0 lead.
Joe De Pinto led off the bottom half of the inning with a double to left before Mike O'Neill hit his first home run of the season with the two-run shot to right off CSF starter Kevin Rath for the 3-2 lead in favor of the Titans.
Ramirez hit a solo homer to dead center in the fourth and Clark's sacrifice fly made it 5-2 in the fifth.
With one out in the seventh, Christian Colon singled and Newman walked. Clark singled home Colon with Newman moving to third for a 6-2 score. Fellhauer then stole second and on the delayed steal to home, Newman gave Fullerton its seventh run of the game. Fellhauer then stole third on the following pitch and scored on catcher Kevin Roundtree's throwing error.
Clark capped the scoring with an RBI double in the ninth for the Titans.
USC travels to Pepperdine tomorrow for a 3 p.m. game before a Pac-10 series at Oregon State, Friday-Sunday (April 17-19). Friday's game starts at 5 p.m. with a 2 p.m. start on Saturday and noon start on Sunday.
