Breaking It Down With Bailey

April 15, 2009

Obviously this is going to be a tough blog for me to write, but I'm loyal to my fans so I'll push through for you guys!

This was quite an interesting weekend. Never in my dreams did I think we'd lose a game this weekend, let alone two.

The Pac-10 is so random. Everyone is good. Anyone can beat anyone on any given day.

Thursday night we arrived in Marina Del Rey, California ready to hand it to some Bruins. But Friday afternoon rolled around and we just couldn't seem to figure Megan Langenfeld out. Alicia Blake had the only hit of the game for us Huskies, and Danielle once again pitched her heart out, giving it everything she had like she does every game.

Little did we know Alicia's hit would be our only one of the weekend. After going 11 innings with the blue and gold on Friday, we were hoping to come in Saturday and take it to `em. Well, we ended up getting run-ruled for the first (and it better be the last) time this season. People were putting the ball in play, and I must admit there were a couple ridiculous calls by the umpires (not to make excuses, but it really does halt any momentum we would have built) but we just couldn't get it done. It would have been nice to get a sweep this weekend and hopefully it will just all work out in the end when it matters the most.

I am sure we will all get it back together by this upcoming weekend when we play the Oregon schools at their place. They are going to be scrappy and looking to get a win any way that they can. We will work really hard this week and get back on track.

Glasoe should probably go back to eating bugs. That seems to help.

Quote: 'Growth means change and change involves risk, stepping from the known to the unknown' (this quote is from the book The Shack, stolen from Lauren Greer. I felt that this relates to our team in the sense that we have never won a National Championship... and if we expect to do that we have to be willing to do things we have never done before in order to get there.)

Stay classy and GO TEAM PURP!!

Love, 20
