Erdelyi Takes Seventh In Invitational Steeplechase At Mt. SAC

Sophomore Zsofia Erdelyi placed third among collegiate runners in her first 3000m steeplechase of the season tonight (April 16) at the Mt. SAC Relays held in Walnut, Calif. She was the only Trojan competing tonight, but many members of the USC track and field team will be in action on Friday and Saturday at Mt. SAC, including USC record-holder Corey White in the javelin on Friday at 10 a.m.

Erdelyi, who placed seventh overall in the women's 3000m Steeplechase Invitational, had a NCAA Regional qualifying time of 10:08.34. He time was less than five seconds off her best college time of 10:03.73 set at the 2008 NCAA West Regional which established the USC school record.

The winner of the race was Lindsey Anderson of Nike who posted a time of 9:46.56 which is the top mark in the world so far this season.
