Marquess Ties For Eighth On the All-Time Wins List as Stanford Defeats Santa Clara, 11-1
STANFORD, Calif. - On a night that Stanford head coach Mark Marquess won his 1,342nd game to move into an eighth-place tie for the most in the history of NCAA Division I baseball, the host Cardinal (16-16) rolled to an 11-1, non-conference victory over Santa Clara (15-21) at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond. Marquess has a career 1,342-685-7 (.662) record over 33 years at the helm of his alma mater, matching Rod Dedeaux for eighth place.
