Keenan Sends Reser Crowd into Frenzy

April 21, 2009

Corvallis, Ore. -

The critics remained out in force, even though the Beavers had a five-game Pac-10 Conference win streak heading into the Nov. 15 clash with the California Bears.  Those critics were quick to point out, with the exception of the victory way back in September against USC, the rest of the wins were versus the lower echelon Pac-10 teams.

On this Nov. 15 day the Bears rolled into Reser Stadium looking to move up in the standings to tie OSU.  It was a battle that featured the two best running backs in the conference and they both showed their stuff as OSU’s Jacquizz Rodgers ran for 144 yards and Cal’s Jahvid Best had 116.  In the end, however, it was the Beaver defense that proved to be the difference.
