Barte Into Pac-10 Semis, Two Doubles Teams Still Alive

STANFORD, Calif.- Hilary Barte's march to a Pac-10 singles title continued on Friday afternoon, this time at the expense of a teammate.

Barte topped Cardinal freshman Veronica Li 6-2, 6-2 in the quarterfinals and advanced to play Amanda Fink of USC on Saturday in the semifinals. Li's impressive tournament run comes to a close, as she won her first two matches on Thursday to reach the round of eight.

Fink spoiled another potential all-Cardinal matchup when she defeated Jessica Nguyen 6-1, 6-1 in another quarterfinal.

After reaching the quarterfinals of the invitational division, Logan Hansen was finally defeated in a 0-6, 6-2, 6-4 loss to Washington State's Aleksandra Malovic.

Two doubles teams are still alive. The duo of Nguyen and Carolyn McVeigh topped UCLA's Andrea Remynse and Yasmin Schnack by a 3-0, ret., inj, while Isamarie Perez and Jennifer Yen downed USC's Elizabeth Marsico and Alison Ramos 8-6.
