Andy Levitre Drafted By Buffalo in the 2nd Round

April 25, 2009

Former Oregon State offensive lineman Andy Levitre has been drafted with the 19th pick of the 2nd round (51st overall) by the Buffalo Bills on Saturday in the 2009 National Football League Draft.

Levitre was a four-year letterman playing in 39 starts, including 35 consecutive starts. The Ben Lomond, Calif. native was a 2008 American Football Coaches Association First Team All-American, a three-time All-Pac-10 selection and a two-time Pac-10 All-Academic second team member.

Levitre is the fourth Oregon State offensive lineman to be drafted in the last five years. He joins Roy Schuening, who was drafted last year (5th round/Rams), Adam Koets in 2007 (6th round/Giants) and Doug Nienhuis in 2005 (7th round/Seattle). His second round selection is the highest an OSU offensive lineman has ever been selected in the NFL Draft.

Levitre's selection marks the ninth consecutive year that a former Oregon State player has been taken in the NFL Draft.
