Beavers Gear Up for Three Spring Exhibition Matches

Corvallis, Ore. - The Oregon State volleyball team is gearing up for three spring exhibition matches, kicking off on Friday, May 1 against an Oregon State alumni team before taking on Oregon on Tuesday, May 5, and wrapping up at home against Western Oregon on Saturday, May 9. Admission is free for all matches.

Familiar faces will be present for Friday's alumni match, including recently departed Ashley Evans, Kristin Murray and Abby Windell. The competition will take place in Dixon Recreation Center on the Oregon State campus on the lower court, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The Beavers will then travel to Eugene to face the Ducks on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in McArthur Court before hosting Western Oregon on Saturday, May 9, at 8:00 p.m. to cap off the 2009 Willamette Volleyball Classic in legendary Gill Coliseum.

The Beavers return five starters from last season, led by senior outside hitter Rachel Rourke. Rourke earned the program's first All-America honors and All-Pacific Region honors last season. Joining Rourke in the talented senior class are setter Camilla Ah-Hoy, defensive specialist Brittney Belshe, outside hitter Bree Knitter and middle blocker Lexie Rathgeber.

Also returning are junior setter Kaitlan Locke, middle blocker Kiersten Sambrailo and outside hitter Jill Sawatzky. Sophomore defensive specialist Betsy Devich rounds out the nine letterwinners.
