Nwachukwu Named SAAC President for WSU
April 28, 2009
PULLMAN - Rising junior safety Chima Nwachukwu was named Washington State's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President for the 2009-10 academic year.
Nwachukwu, who served as vice president during 2008-09, represented WSU at the NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., and attended the Pacific-10 Conference SAAC meeting in San Francisco earlier this month.
SAAC is made up of two representatives from each athletic program, and provides insight on student-athlete experiences and offers input on the rules, regulations and polices that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA member institution campuses.
Each national divisional committee is comprised of both male and female student-athletes charged with the responsibility of assisting in the formulation of NCAA legislation. This is accomplished by providing student-athlete's input on issues related to student-athlete's welfare that are division-specific.
