April 29, 2009

CORVALLIS, Ore. - A change has been made to the Civil War I-5 Iris Festival Classic on May 20. The game is now slated for a 6 p.m. PT, start.

It will still be played on Wednesday, May 20 at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer, Ore.

The time change was made to better accommodate travel schedules for the week.Prices to the game are $20 for lower reserved, $15 for upper reserved and $10 for general admission. Tickets to the game go on sale at 9 a.m., Thursday, and will be available through the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes box office (503-390-2225) or online at www.volcanoestickets.com.

A coin toss was performed before Tuesday night's game and it was determined that the Ducks will be the home team and occupy the third base dugout.

The game will mark the sixth and final matchup between the teams this season. Oregon State took 2-of-3 in a Pacific-10 Conference series in late March. The clubs drew nearly 30,000 over two games at PGE Park in Portland.

Most recently, on Tuesday, the Beavers used a grand slam and five RBI from John Wallace for a 10-2 decision over the Ducks at Goss Stadium. The game attracted nearly 2,400 and was the first played at Coleman Field between the teams since the 1981 season. The win improved Oregon State's record this season to 25-11 while Oregon fell to 13-29.

Volcanoes Stadium is home to the Single-A Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. The park seats 4,252 and was built in 1997.

Oregon State will now turn its attention to Arizona State in a three-game series that starts Friday at Goss Stadium. A limited number of seats remain for Friday and Sunday's games, while tickets are sold out for Saturday's contest. For tickets, call 1-800-GOBEAVS, visit the ticket office at legendary Gill Coliseum or go to osubeavers.com, the online home of Oregon State Athletics.

As always, fans can catch the games live on the Beaver Sports Network and Beaver Nation Online (osubeavers.com).

Please note that the times for Saturday and Sunday's games have changed. Saturday's game is a 5 p.m. PT start while Sunday's is now at 12 p.m.
