Nicole Leach Named Pac-10 Female Track Athlete Of The Week

Senior Nicole Leach has been named the Pac-10 Female Track Athlete of the Week after an impressive performance against USC this past Saturday.

In the UCLA/USC Dual Meet, Leach helped the Bruins to a season-best and improved regional mark of 45.00 in the 4x100 relay. She then won the open 400m with a regional qualifier of 52.04, which ranks third in the NCAA this season. Leach then made her season debut in the 400m hurdles, winning with the No. 2 time in the NCAA this season - 56.33. Her mark was a regional qualifier. Leach has never lost a 400m hurdles race in the UCLA/USC dual during her career at UCLA.

This is UCLA's first Athlete of the Week honor for the 2009 season.

Also earning Pac-10 honors this week were USC's Eva Orban (Female Field), Oregon's Matthew Centrowitz (Men's Track) and ASU's Ryan Whiting (Men's Field).
