Noelle Quinn Back In L.A.

May 5, 2009

UCLA women's basketball alumna Noelle Quinn (2004-07) will be calling Los Angeles home once again after being traded to the Los Angeles Sparks in a three-team deal with the Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty. Quinn had spent the past two seasons with the Lynx, who drafted her with the fourth overall pick in the 2007 WNBA draft.

Quinn had an unprecedented career at UCLA, becoming the only Bruin, male or female, to record at least 1,700 points, 700 rebounds and 400 assists for a career. She finished her career with a total of 1,829 points to become the Bruins' No. 4 all-time scorer and was also seventh with 450 assists and eighth with 794 rebounds. She was a two-time honorable mention All-American, a three-time first-team All-Pac-10 honoree and the 2004 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year. She was also honored a then-record eight times as the Pac-10 Player of the Week.

'I am so blessed to be joining the Sparks family. My family has always had season tickets and I grew up watching them and then being able to play at UCLA, I always dreamed of having the opportunity to continue playing at home and now that it has come true, I'm overwhelmed,' said Quinn. 'Thank you to everyone who helped bring me home. It's such a privilege to share in Lisa (Leslie's) last year, to have a chance to help this team win a title and to be here to give back to LA.'

Quinn is one of three Bruins currently playing in the WNBA. Also in the league are Nikki Blue (Washington Mystics) and Lisa Willis (New York Liberty).
