Cal Baseball Shuts Out Sacramento State, 15-0
BERKELEY, Calif. - Junior center fielder Brett Jackson nearly hit for the cycle and finished with a career-high eight RBI, while six California pitchers combined for a shutout as the Golden Bears defeated Sacramento State, 15-0, Tuesday afternoon at Evans Diamond. Cal improved to 23-27 overall and the Hornets fell to 27-23. Jackson went 4-for-6 with an RBI single in the second inning, a grand slam in the third inning and a three-run triple in the sixth inning to account for his eight RBI. SAN JOSE, Calif. - In a 4 hour, 28 minute marathon that displayed the character of the 2009 Cardinal, Kellen Kiilsgaard's RBI-single in the 13th inning provided the winning margin as Stanford (26-21) defeated host San Jose State (35-18) by the score of 6-5 tonight at Municipal Stadium. UCLA Baseball Cruises Past Long Beach State, 15-2
LOS ANGELES - The UCLA baseball team recorded 15 hits and its pitching staff combined for 13 strikeouts in a 15-2 victory over Long Beach State on Tuesday evening at Steele Field at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
