Jeff Tedford to Appear on CSN Bay Area's Chronicle Live Wednesday

May 13, 2009

BERKELEY - Cal football coach Jeff Tedford will be a guest on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area's Chronicle Live program Wednesday. The show airs from 5-6 p.m. and will be rebroadcast at 11 p.m.

Hosted by Greg Papa, Wednesday's program will also feature panelists Rusty Simmons, Henry Schulman and Bruce Jenkins from the San Francisco Chronicle, as well as baseball Hall of Famer Joe Morgan and Selena Roberts, author of The Many Lives of Alex Rodriguez.

Tedford, a two-time Pac-10 Coach of the Year, has a 59-30 record in his first seven seasons in Berkeley with six bowl berths on his resume.

The Golden Bears recently completed their spring football workouts and will return to the practice field in early August to prepare for the 2009 season. After finishing the 2008 campaign with a 9-4 overall record, including a 24-17 win over Miami in the Emerald Bowl, Cal has been ranked among the nation's Top 20 programs in virtually every preseason poll.

The Bears are led by junior tailback Jahvid Best, the country's top returning rusher after compiling 1,580 yards last season. Cal's defense also returns eight starters from a unit that ranked among the Top 10 in the NCAA in interceptions, pass efficiency defense and turnover margin in '08.
