PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University men's basketball head coach Ken Bone completed his staff with the hiring of Jared Barrett as the director of basketball operations and Tim Marrion as the coordinator of basketball operations, he announced Thursday.

'We are excited to have Jared and Tim join our staff,' Bone said. 'They bring camp and recruiting experience to the program, which are areas we would like to be strong in. They will also be assisting with administrative duties.'

Barrett comes to WSU after serving as an assistant basketball coach at Utah Valley University the last two seasons where he served as the head assistant working with the guards while doing all of the game scouts. Prior to his year with the Wolverines, Barrett spent six seasons as an assistant men's basketball coach at Sacramento State. While at EOU, he was responsible for all the daily operations of the team. Barrett also served as the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the basketball program.

In his playing days, Barrett was a two-sport athlete in high school and college. He began his collegiate playing career at Olympic College in Bremerton, Wash. where he was an all-league baseball player (pitcher) and competed in basketball. From there, Barrett moved on to Eastern Oregon where he was named the basketball team's most valuable player following the 1996-97 season leading the team in rebounding while ranking second on the squad in scoring.
