Jared Prince Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington State University senior outfielder Jared Prince has been named Pacific-10 Conference Player of the Week for May 11-17, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced, Monday.

Prince batted .478 (11-for-23) with a home run and 10 RBI to lead Washington State to a 4-2 record last week. The Poulsbo native was 3-for-4 with three RBI in the Cougars' 10-2 win over Oregon, May 11. He added a home run and three RBI in a 10-5 victory over Portland, May 12.

He was 6-for-10 with four RBI in a three-game series at Oregon State in which WSU won two games. He was a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and three, two-out RBI in a 7-6 victory, May 15 and had two hits and a RBI in a 7-6 win, May 17. For the week, he posted a .696 slugging percentage and .556 on-base percentage.

This is the first weekly honor for Prince and the second for WSU this season. Freshman Derek Jones won the award for the week of March 23-29.
