BERKELEY, Calif. - Junior right-hander Robert Stock (Westlake Village/Agoura HS) threw seven scoreless innings, allowing four hits and striking out seven Friday, as the USC Trojans defeated the California Golden Bears, 4-2, in Pac-10 action. Stock was aided by three home runs by the Trojans, who evened their overall record to 27-27 with a 12-13 conference mark.
Mike O'Neill (Riverside/Poly HS) continued a hot streak after going 5-for-5 in Tuesday's win against UC Riverside with a leadoff solo homer to left.
After Joe De Pinto singled in the sixth, freshman Ricky Oropesa (Rancho Cucamonga/Etiwanda HS) clubbed his 13th homer of the season with the two-run shot to left center. Hector Rabago hit a solo home run of his own in the seventh as USC took the 4-0 lead.
