No. 2 ASU Closes Out Regular Season With 6-5 Win Over UCLA
TEMPE, Ariz. - Carlos Ramirez went 4-for-5 and drove in three runs to lead the No. 2 Arizona State University baseball team to a 6-5 victory over UCLA in the regular season finale on Sunday at Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark. Cal Baseball Blanks USC, 6-0
BERKELEY, Calif. - The Cal baseball team ended the 2009 season on a high note, blanking USC, 6-0, behind a complete-game two-hit shutout by junior left-hander Chris Petrini Sunday at Evans Diamond. The Golden Bears, who had lost to USC, 4-2, on Friday and, 14-4, Saturday, improved to 24-29 overall and 9-18 in the Pac-10. The Trojans dropped to 28-28 and 13-14 in league. Petrini, from San Bruno (Sacred Heart Cathedral High School), was spectacular, no-hitting USC through 6.2 innings before giving up a single to Hector Rebago in the seventh inning that just got past a diving Cal shortstop Michael Brady.
