Shackleton Twins Highlight Pac-10 All-Academic Track & Field Honorees

Twenty Bruin men and women have been honored by the Pac-10 Conference as All-Academic teams for the 2009 track and field season were announced on Wednesday with twin brothers Kyle and Drew Shackleton highlighting the Bruins with first-team honors.

Kyle and Drew are senior distance runners for the Bruins and have been named to the first-team for the third time during their careers. Both are Business/Economics majors as Kyle maintains a 3.82 gpa and Drew has a 3.74 gpa.

Earning second-team honors were fellow distance runners Marco Anzures and Scott Crawford. Anzures, a junior History major holds a 3.35 gpa. Crawford, a sophomore Business/Economics major maintains a 3.43 gpa.

Named honorable mention were sophomore hurdler Brian Law, sophomore distance runner Cory Primm, senior pole vaulter Bobby Talley and sophomore pole vaulter Greg Woepse.

On the women's side, senior Olga Aulet-Leon led the way with second-team honors as she is a Business/Economics major with a 3.61 gpa.

Named honorable mention were sophomore pole vaulter Tori Anthony, senior pole vaulter, Megan Jamerson, senior distance runner Lauren Jirges, junior distance runner Rosa Magana, sophomore sprinter, Ashlea McLaughlin, sophomore junior Tori Pena, sophomore pole vaulter Aubree Stark, junior distance runner Ciara Viehweg, junior pole vaulter Katy Viuf, senior jumper Rhonda Watkins and sophomore distance runner Kelcie Wiemann.
