NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma scored five times in the bottom of the seventh and defeated Washington State 7-2 in an elimination game at the NCAA Division I Baseball Norman Regional, Sunday.

The win improved ninth-ranked and No. 7 overall seed Oklahoma to 43-19 while the 24th-ranked and regional's No. 3 seed Washington State's season ended at 32-25.

'Oklahoma is the best offensive team one-through-nine in the country,' WSU Head Coach Donnie Marbut said. 'I am proud of the way our guys battled, not only today, but all season long. I promise you this (the postseason) will not be a one-time thing for us.'

With the game tied 2-2, Sooners' pinch hitter Chris Ellison singled and Jamie Johnson was hit by a pitch to put runners at first and second with no one out. That ended the day for Cougar redshirt-freshman starter David Stilley (3-3). Junior Connor Lambert entered the game and yielded a bunt single to Matt Harughty. Lambert struck out Bryant Hernandez, but J.T. Wise singled to third off the glove of a diving sophomore Matt Argyropoulos and the Sooners took a 3-2 lead.

Freshman Adam Conley came in to relieve Lambert and the first pitch he threw was belted over the right field wall by Aaron Baker for a grand slam and a 7-2 advantage.

Oklahoma took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a two-run home run by Hernandez off Stilley. In the top of the second, senior Greg Lagreid walked on four pitches to open the frame. Junior Michael Weber's at bat was prolonged when Hernandez, the Sooners' shortstop, overran a foul pop up down the left field line. Weber took advantage with a home run over the right field wall to tie the game 2-2.

David Stilley struck out four to raise his season total to 42, seventh-best all-time on the WSU freshman list.
