Six Stanford Men Pick Up Pac-10 All-Academic Nods

STANFORD, Calif. - Six Stanford men's tennis players received Pac-10 All-Academic awards today, as announced by the conference's commissioner, Tom Hansen. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point-average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

Sophomore Greg Hirshman and junior Richard Wire led the group of Cardinal honored, as each received first team honors. Hirshman carries a 3.99 GPA and is double-majoring in economics and mathematics, while Wire owns a 3.59 in international relations.

Seniors Matt Bruch and Blake Muller were named to the second team, while sophomores Alex Clayton and Ted Kelly each picked up honorable mentions.
