Baseball, Wrestling Media Guides Earn National Publications Recognition
June 8, 2009
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State baseball and wrestling media guides have both been named third in the nation in voting sponsored by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Both guides earned their national recognition after being voted upon by individual panels selected by CoSIDA. Each panel contained three CoSIDA members.
Baseball earned its honor after 56 guides were turned in to CoSIDA for voting by various Division I institutions. The guide, designed and edited by Hank Hager, assistant director of Athletic Communications, placed third in its district behind Stanford and UCLA, which finished first and second nationally. The 2009 Oregon State baseball guide contained 192 pages.
The wrestling media guide, designed and edited by Melody Stockwell, assistant director of Athletic Communications, finished third among 21 entries and trailed only Wisconsin and Illinois. The 2008-09 wrestling media guide contained 84 pages.
Both guides' inside and outside covers were designed by Ben Little, director of advertising, web design and branding.
