Follow Your Beaver Baseball Players This Summer

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State's season may have ended last week in Fort Worth, Texas, but it certainly won't be the last baseball played by the club's players this year. Many have signed up to play for various summer league teams.

Below is a list of where the Beavers will be going this summer and the 'skinny' on that league. Note that a player may start with a league, but will not necessarily play the entire season with that club.

Alaska Baseball League
Brad Kidd - Athletes In Action
Michael Miller - Peninsula Oilers
Kraig Sitton - Anchorage Bucs

The Skinny: The ABL is a six-team league that plays 45 league games and up to five non-league games. The season starts June 10 and runs through August 3. The league champion and second-place club qualify for the National Baseball Congress World Series. Teams play with a roster limit of 24, plus an exemption for Alaska residents.

Cape Cod League
Greg Peavey - Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox
Stefen Romero - Harwich Mariners
Tanner Robles - Harwich Mariners

The Skinny: The Cape Cod League is one of the most prestigious summer leagues, with many current Major Leaguers tracing their histories back to the league. It is comprised of 10 teams that are scheduled to play 44 games apiece. The top two teams in each division play a best-of-three series and those winners meeting in a best-of-three championship. League play starts June 11 and ends August 15. Roster limits are 25.

Coastal Plain League
Rob Folsom - Wilson Tobs

The Skinny: The Coastal Plain League is a 13-team league that plays 56 games. It starts on May 27 and runs through August 4 with an eight-team tournament serving as the playoffs. A roster limit of 27 is in effect.

New York Collegiate Baseball League
Blake Gibbs - Albany Dutchmen

The Skinny: The NYCBL is a 14-team league. Teams are scheduled to play 44 games from early June through late August. Teams play with 25 active players.

Northwoods League
John Tommasini - Rochester Honkers

The Skinny: The Northwoods League plays a 68-game schedule with 15 teams populating the league. Play starts May 28 and ends August 16. First-half and second-half division winners meet in a best-of-three followed by a best-of-three championship series. The roster limit for clubs is 26.

Sierra Baseball League
Brandon Hayes - Humboldt Crabs
Logan Lotti - Humboldt Crabs
Max Shupe - San Jose Seals

The Skinny: The Sierra Baseball League features 15 clubs located in California.

West Coast League
Carter Bell - Corvallis Knights
Mike Chiarelli - Bellingham Bells
Sam Gaviglio - Corvallis Knights
Ryan Gorton - Wenatchee Applesox
James Nygren - Corvallis Knights
Nick Stiltner - Bend Elks
Brent Warren - Corvallis Knights

The Skinny: The WCL is an eight-team league that plays 48 games starting June 5 and running through August 9. Clubs have a roster limit of 28.
