June 9, 2009
SEATTLE - Through its exclusive partnership with FSN Northwest, the University of Washington announced its Sept.12 football game against Idaho and its Dec. 5 Pacific-10 Conference contest against California will be televised live from Husky Stadium.
The Idaho contest will kick-off at 12:30 p.m. (Pacific), while the Cal contest is slated for a 3:30 p.m. start. Five of Washington's 12 games this season have been pre-selected to be televised, including three of the first four games of the season. Each of the remaining games that have not been selected could be chosen by Pac-10 and its television partners FSN, ABC/ESPN or Versus either six or 12 days prior to kickoff.
Washington currently enjoys a 26-game streak of live television appearances over the last two-plus seasons, dating back to the 2006 contest at Stanford, with 17 of those games televised by FSN to Husky fans throughout the country. Every UW game over the last two seasons has been featured on live television.
The Steve Sarkisian era of Husky football officially opens on Saturday, Sept. 5 with a 7:30 p.m. contest against preseason top 10-ranked Louisiana State University at Husky Stadium. The following weekend, Washington hosts the Vandals before its Pac-10 opener against another preseason top 10-ranked team in league rival USC. The Huskies, which open their season with three-straight home games, play a total of seven home games during the season. In addition to LSU, Idaho and USC, the Huskies also host Arizona (Oct. 10), Oregon (Oct. 24), Washington State (Nov. 28) and Cal (Dec. 5).
