UA to Host 2011 Golf Regional

INDIANAPOLIS--The University of Arizona will play host to regional competition of the NCAA Men's Golf Championships in 2011, the NCAA announced today.

The event will be held at the Omni Tucson National Resort on Tucson's northwest side. It is one of six regional sites. Others are Erie, Colo. (Colorado), Ocala, Fla. (Florida), Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. (USD), Zionsville, Ind. (Indiana), and Blacksburg, Va. (Virginia Tech).

The Men's Golf Committee also named sites for the 2010 NCAA Championships to be hosted next year by Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, San Diego State, Texas A&M, Washington and Yale.

Men's golf regionals and NCAA competition are held in May.
