Tom Davidson Resigns as Cal Diving Coach

BERKELEY - Tom Davidson, California's diving coach since 2006, has resigned his position with the Golden Bears effective June 30 in order to pursue other career opportunities.

Davidson recently completed his MBA in management at Illinois State, where he served as diving coach for the 2005-06 season.

This past season, three Cal male divers finished among the top 11 on 1-meter, 3-meter and platform at the Pac-10 meet, while Alissa Barker was fourth on platform at the women's conference championships.

A three-time All-American and four-time Big Ten champion diver at Indiana, Davidson has also coached at the high school and club levels in addition to his work in the collegiate ranks. He received his bachelor's degree in management with a minor in history from Indiana in 2001.
