Stanford Opens Fall Camp on August 10

STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford Cardinal will open its 2009 fall camp on Monday, August 10 with a helmet-only workout at Elliott Field beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Stanford's first practice in full pads will be on Friday, August 5, while the first two-a-day workout session is scheduled for August 16.

Stanford returns 17 starters (8 offense/7 defense/2 specialists) and 50 letterwinners (24 offense/23 defense/3 specialists) from last year's team that finished with a 5-7 overall record and 4-5 in the Pac-10 Conference.

Stanford opens the 2009 regular season on Sept. 5 at Washington State, marking the first of two straight road games to kickoff the campaign. The Cardinal will make their first-ever visit to Winston-Salem, NC the following week for a showdown with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons before the home opener against San Jose State on Sept. 19.

Other home games include dates with UCLA (Oct. 3), Arizona State (Oct. 24; 7:15 p.m.), Cal (Nov. 21) and Notre Dame (Nov. 28; 5:00 p.m.).
