TUCSON, Ariz. -- Richard Lee tied for third and Darren Wallace tied for 13th at the 43rd Pacific Coast Amateur Championships in Tucson, Ariz. Lee was -14, 274 overall, finishing three strokes behind winner Chan Kim.
Lee, from Bellevue, Wash., shot a 4-under 68 on Friday, while Wallace shot a 2-under 70. Wallace, from Langley, B.C., shot 9-under 279 overall.
Husky alum Derek Berg finished the tournament tied for seventh at 11-under 277. He shot a 5-under 67 in the final round of action.
Lee also successfully defended the Morse Cup trophy with his three-man Washington State GA team. The Morse Cup winner is determined by the cumulative scores of all three golfers after the first two rounds.
In Nationwide Tour action, Nick Taylor is 2-under par, 140 overall, after shooting an even-par 71 in Friday's second round of the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational. He is tied for 19th, but several golfers are still on the course at this time. Alex Prugh shot a 1-under 70 on Friday and is even overall at 142 for the tournament. The tournament cutline is projected to be even par, so both appear to be safe to advance to the final two rounds of the tournament in Columbus, Ohio.
