Cats Enjoying Successful U.S. Open

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Heading into night four of the U.S. Open of swimming, the Arizona participants look to continue their stellar swimming. Last night in the men’s 4 x200 free relay, Jack Brown, Adam Ritter, AJ Tipton and Austen Thompson won Gold with a meet record time of 7:18.82.


The Cats also had three swimmers in the top eight of the women’s 100 fly with Whitney Myers, Whitney Lopus and Dana Christ finishing fourth, fifth and seventh, respectively.


In the women’s B heat of the 400 free, Susana Helms claimed victory with a very fast time of 4:12.74.


In prelims this morning, Marcus Titus turned in the top prelim swim in the men’s 100 breast with a time of 1:00.33. He’ll swim out of lane four tonight in the final. Others swimming in final heat events include Leo Vorster (200 free), Adam Ritter (200 free), Annie Chandler (100 breast) and Hannah Ross, Whitney Myers and Ana Agy, all in the 200 back.


The U.S. Open in Federal Way, Wash. continues through Saturday evening.
