2009-10 UCLA Women's Basketball Schedule Released

Aug. 10, 2009

A Nov. 28 game at Tennessee highlights the 2009-10 schedule for the UCLA women's basketball team. That matchup will mark the first game in Tennessee for Bruin head coach Nikki Caldwell, who won three NCAA titles as a player and assistant coach for the Lady Vols.

The Bruins open the 2009-10 season at the Hawkeye Challenge on Nov. 14 against Illinois State and will face Iowa or Santa Clara the following day on Nov. 15 before returning home for the Nov. 19 home opener against Hawaii. Other non-conference games of note are a home game against Texas Tech on Dec. 18, a matchup against Utah in San Diego on Nov. 21 and road games against Kansas (Dec. 3) and UC Santa Barbara (Dec. 15).

UCLA will play the usual Pac-10 Conference slate, with games against Pac-10 champion and Final Four participant Stanford on Jan. 10 at home and Feb. 6 on the road, and games against cross-town rival USC on Jan. 16 at the Galen Center and Feb. 13 at home. The State Farm Pac-10 Women's Basketball Tournament will take place once again in Los Angeles, at the Galen Center Mar. 11-14. The Bruins could play as many as 10 games against 2009 NCAA Tournament teams.
