    Last season, the Ducks advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament for the second-straight season and second time in the program's history. They return two of last year’s school-record three All-Pac-10 first team picks in senior outside hitter Sonja Newcombe and senior middle blocker Neticia Enesi. Senior setter Nevena Djordjevic ranked ninth nationally in assists per set (11.58) and posted 40-plus assists in 12 of her last 13 matches last year. In 2008, UO ranked in the top 10 nationally in kills (6th, 14.64 per set), hitting (6th, school record .289) and assists (9th, 13.41 per set). The Ducks also stood 25th nationally in blocks (2.58 per set). The Ducks welcome a seven-member newcomer class, including 2008 Under Armour Prep second team All-Americans outside hitters Katherine Fischer and Jocelyn Levig, to help ease the graduation of All-American outside hitter Gorana Maricic and libero Katie Swoboda, who ended her career ranked second all-time in the Pac-10 in career digs (2,198).

    In 2008, the Ducks got there first regular-season sweep of the Bruins, defeating them, 3-1, in Eugene, Ore., and, 3-2, in Los Angeles. This promises to be a great matchup as both teams look to be vying for a Pac-10 title. A week after playing UCLA on FSN, the Ducks battle Oregon State on FSN. OU has had success against the Beavers, winning the last six matches.

    Enesi had quite the junior season being named to the AVCA All-American second team, All-Pac-10 team, Volleyball Magazine All-Region team, Mizuno All-American third team and the Collegiate Volleyball Update Stellar Spikes honorable mention. Enesi broke single-season school records for hitting (.389) and block assists (143), ranking 16th and 30th nationally in the categories, respectively last season. She led the team in games played (121) and blocks (153) in 2008 and ranks fifth on OU’s career block assists (285), needing 45 more to become the prpgram's all-time leader. In 2009, she named to the USA Volleyball A2 National Team.
