USC's 2012 Syracuse Game To Be At New Meadowlands Stadium

Aug. 18, 2009

USC's road football game against Syracuse in 2012 will be played at the New Meadowlands Stadium being built in East Rutherford, N.J.

The Trojans' Sept. 8, 2012 contest against the Orange, originally scheduled to be played in the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, will be the first college football game played in the new 82,500-seat stadium that is scheduled to open in 2011 as the home of the NFL's Giants and Jets.

USC has played 3 times at the current Giants Stadium at the Meadowlands, all in season-opening Kickoff Classics: a 34-16 win over Syracuse in 1990, a 24-7 loss to Penn State in 1996 and a 29-5 win over Penn State in 2000.

USC owns a 2-0 record in its series with Syracuse, with the first victory coming in 1924 in Los Angeles. The teams are scheduled to meet in the Coliseum on Sept. 17, 2011.
