Volleyball Invites Fans To Friday Practice/Scrimmage
Aug. 18, 2009
Husky fans can get a sneak peak at the 2009 Washington volleyball squad one week before the season-opener, as the Huskies will conduct an open practice and intrasquad scrimmage this Friday evening, Aug. 21, on the main floor of the Bank of America Arena.
Admission is free for all spectators and the session will get underway at 6 p.m. Husky fans can expect to see a number of intense drills in addition to the team scrimmage, which could be a valuable experience to any young players or new fans who want a close-up view of the practice habits of one of the top-ranked teams in the preseason. Thus far the Huskies have been ranked No. 4 nationally by Volleyball Magazine, and were named the preseason favorites in the Pac-10 by the conference coaches.
One possible itinerary for the evening could begin at the volleyball scrimmage before continuing on at the evening's football practice in Husky Stadium, which is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m.
Washington is now just over a week away from the home opener against San Jose State on Friday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. The match is part of The Invitational At Seattle, Washington hosted along with Seattle University.
