TEMPE, Ariz. - FOX Sports Arizona has announced plans to televise Arizona State University's first two football games of the upcoming season in High Definition. The Sun Devils will host Idaho State on Saturday, Sept. 5 and Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday, Sept 19. Both games will start at 7 p.m.
Beginning this season, long-time Arizona television personality Tom Leander will be FOX Sports Arizona's new play-by-play announcer for ASU football games. FOX Sports Arizona is the exclusive television home of ASU athletics and its unmatched 2009-10 television coverage of the Sun Devils kicks off on Monday, Aug. 24, at 6:30 & 9:30 p.m. with Arizona State Sun Devils College Football Preview. A half-hour look ahead to ASU's season, it is hosted by Jody Jackson and features a piece on senior defensive end Dexter Davis, a behind the scenes look at the making of the ASU season ticket commercial, Dennis Erickson talking about the quarterback situation and Juan Roque giving his keys to a successful season. Finally, the show breaks down the race for the Pac-10 Conference title.
Then on Saturday, Aug 29, four of ASU's wins from last season will be highlighted with encore presentations of Sun Devil Rewind. They will air consecutively in a two-hour block beginning at 10:30 p.m. with the victory over Northern Arizona, followed by Stanford (11 p.m.), Washington (11:30 p.m.) and Washington State (12 a.m.)
More ASU football games could be added to FOX Sports Arizona's telecast schedule during the season as many windows are yet to be filled. Currently, there are three other games that have a possibility of being televised on the network, pending the 6-day and 12-day television selection process, including: Oct. 3 - Oregon State; Oct. 10 - at Washington State; Oct. 31 - California
