Cougars Announce 2009-10 Tennis Schedule

PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State University tennis team begins its 2009-2010 season with the Cougar Classic in Pullman on Sept. 18-20, at the WSU Outdoor Tennis Courts.

The Cougars continue the fall season with tournaments at Gonzaga on Sept. 25-27, and the Boise State Invitational on Oct. 2-4.

The team begins the spring campaign with a nine-match home stand, playing the home-opener Jan. 15 at the Simmilink Tennis Courts of Hollingberry Fieldhouse. WSU opens Pacific-10 Conference play by hosting Arizona State and Arizona March 5 and 6, then will hit the road for 7 matches, including conference foes UCLA, USC, and Oregon. The 2010 regular season concludes with six matches in Pullman, with WSU hosting California, Stanford, and Washington.

The 2009-10 schedule features 12 opponents ranked in the final 2009 rankings, with seven Pac-10 teams in the top 75. The Cougs take on five of the ranked opponents at home and seven on the road.
